Excused Absences

There have been many questions about the attendance policy in our district. Children who are absent due to illness will have an excused absence, including doctor's and dentist appointments if we are informed within 3 days of the absence. For a doctor's or dentist appointment please bring the doctor's note to the office. It is always best to report your child's absence by telephone to the office. If we are informed later than 3 days after the absence it will be considered an unexcused absence. This information was sent to you in the District's Parent Handbook at the beginning of the year. Students with excessive absences will be required to bring a doctor's note for any absence in order for them to be excused as per the ABC Board policy.
